A deck that meets the pool seamlessly.

The patio is where you actually live around a pool. We build decks and patios in pavers, stone and concrete — graded to drain, set on a real base, and finished so the line between pool and yard disappears.

What this is

Half the backyard is the deck.

Renovate the pool and leave the deck, and the deck is suddenly the oldest thing in the yard. Most of the projects we do end up as one job for a reason: a new pool deck is what makes a renovation look finished — and it's when you can fix the grade, the drainage and the layout at the same time.

Because we do the coping too, the deck and the pool edge are designed together. The paver pattern lands where it should, the elevations match, and the expansion joint between them is built in from day one rather than caulked on afterward.

Beyond the deck: patios, walkways, sitting walls, steps and outdoor lighting that tie the pool to the house, the kitchen and the fire feature. One crew, one schedule, one look.

Warning signs

How your deck asks for this.

Heaving & cracks

Slabs lifted by frost, cracked concrete, pavers that have wandered.

Water toward the pool

Puddles on the deck or runoff draining into the pool instead of away from it.

Trip edges

Uneven joints between slabs — the thing you notice barefoot.

Too hot to walk on

Dark, old concrete that bakes in July. Lighter pavers and stone stay usable.

Proof

New deck, new backyard.

How it goes

From layout to first barefoot walk.

1
Walk & plan

We look at grade, drainage and how you use the yard, then draw the layout into an itemized estimate.

2
Demo & excavate

Old deck out, soil cut to depth, and any utilities or drainage lines addressed while it's open.

3
Base & grade

Compacted stone base, pitched away from the pool — the part that decides whether it lasts.

4
Set or pour

Pavers and stone set by hand; concrete formed, reinforced and finished.

5
Joints, edges & clean-up

Polymeric sand or sealed joints, the expansion joint at the coping, and a site left clean.

Questions

Asked at almost every estimate.

Pavers, stone or concrete — which should I choose?

Concrete is the most economical; pavers give the widest choice and are easy to repair; stone is the longest-lived and best-looking. We'll price the options you're deciding between.

How long does a pool deck take?

Typically one to two weeks depending on size and material, weather permitting — and it's usually scheduled right after tile and coping when we're doing both.

Can you fix drainage while you're at it?

Yes — that's the best time. Regrading, drains and downspout connections all happen while the deck is open.

Do you do the whole backyard?

We do. Patios, walkways, sitting walls, outdoor kitchens, fire features and outdoor lighting — the whole hardscape around the water, and the light to use it after dark.

Where we do this

Decks & patios close to home.

Montgomery and Chester counties are home turf, and we travel across Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware for the right project.
